B GREAT

Broad-Spectrum

When a product is referred to as “broad spectrum hemp extract” that means it contains naturally occurring cannabinoids from the hemp plant but no Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

CBD Oil

CBD Oil is a compound found in the cannabis plant and contains the non-intoxicating compound found in the hemp plant. Concentrated CBD Oil is commonly used as the active ingredient in cannabis products like capsules, tinctures, and lotions.

Cannabidiol (CBD)

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring substance found in hemp. It is one of many “cannabinoids,” or compounds that interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system to help regulate our overall physical health. CBD is not psychoactive and will not get you high; it has countless beneficial effects on overall physical health without the psychotropic effects of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

Cannabinoid

Cannabinoids are compounds found in the cannabis plant. There are hundreds of cannabinoids, but the two main cannabinoids are Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD). Cannabinoids interact with specific cannabinoid receptors in the body to help regulate how cells communicate.

Endocannabinoid System (ECS)

You may not have heard of it before, but we all have an Endocannabinoid System (ECS) which is key to the human body’s regulation of numerous cognitive and physiological processes, and helps the body maintain equilibrium or balance. Like an orchestral conductor, the endocannabinoid system helps the body’s systems work together. Specifically, the endocannabinoid system has two different kinds of receptors:
CB1, which are found in the central nervous system
CB2, which are found in the peripheral nervous system and immune cells
CBD interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system receptors to promote a sense of wellbeing and balance.

Full-spectrum

When a product is referred to as “full-spectrum” that means it is made from the whole hemp plant and contains a range of naturally occurring compounds—cannabinoids and phytonutrients. These compounds work in tandem to produce a stronger effect on the body known as “the entourage effect.” B GREAT exclusively uses full-spectrum hemp extract in our products, making sure to retain as many healthy components of the hemp plant as possible to offer the most effective product for supporting your health. Full spectrum extract contains less than 0.3% THC and is non-psychoactive.

The Entourage Effect

The entourage effect refers to the interaction between the different compounds in hemp that create a significantly stronger effect on your body than any individual component could deliver on its own. Researchers believe that because full-spectrum hemp extract has higher bioavailability than CBD isolate, full-spectrum hemp extract is significantly more effective than isolate, even at lower concentrations.

Hemp

Hemp comes from the cannabis sativa plant and is known for its strong fibers and edible seeds. Hemp is different from cannabis/marijuana in that it doesn’t contain high levels of THC. Hemp can produce high concentrations of CBD, which can have a balancing effect on the body.

Hemp Seed Oil

This is an oil extracted from seeds of the hemp plant and is used in skincare and food products. Hemp seed oil’s health benefits come from its high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Hemp seed oil is different from CBD because it comes from the seeds, not the flowers of the plant, and there are no significant levels of cannabinoids in hemp seed oil.

Isolate

Unlike full-spectrum and broad-spectrum which use the whole hemp plant, CBD Isolate extracts cannabidiol from the hemp plant, essentially eliminating hemp’s other beneficial cannabinoids and phytonutrients and leaving only CBD in a highly purified form.

MCT Oil

MCT, or medium chain triglycerides, are medium chain fatty acids found in coconut and palm kernel oil. MCT Oil is a highly concentrated dietary supplement generally made from coconut oil or palm kernel oil, that may help improve metabolism when paired with CBD.

Terpenes

Terpenes are naturally occurring chemical compounds and are associated with the aromatic component of cannabis. There are many kinds of terpenes, each with their own properties such as antioxidant or anti-inflammatory components. When ingested, Terpenes are thought have a similar affect as cannabinoids on the body’s endocannabinoid system.

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)

THC is the main psychoactive compound in cannabis/marijuana that produces the feeling of being “high”. Though both THC and CBD come from the cannabis plant, they interact differently with the body. B GREAT full spectrum CBD products contain 0.3 percent THC or less and are non-psychoactive.

Tincture

A tincture is a liquid extract that is taken orally, like our B GREAT Hemp Oil.
